Child care is an industry largely composed of small businesses based at home. Most full-time child care work is taking care of babies and children under five. Surprisingly it is not necessary in the qualifications to work as a nanny. However, in England Ofsted is responsible for the registration and inspection of nannies. To be registered a nanny who must take the following steps:
  • Childcarelink contact for details of your local Children's Information Service.

  • The Local Authority Children's Information Service and then send you information on child care, we invite you to attend a child care pre-registration information-gathering, and give you an application package.

  • Complete and submit your request to Ofsted.

  • You'll have to have a home inspection and interview staff to ensure that your house meets the health and safety rules, and you're a suitable person to care for children.

  • You'll have to attend a pre-registration training course, including first aid (organized by the municipality or the Children's Information Service).

  • The checks will also be made regarding the health and criminal record, you and anyone in your home for more than 16 years of age and anyone who will work with you.
Once you've done this, all is well, you will receive a certificate of registration Ofsted, you can request insurance and start work as a nanny.

His earning potential as a nanny depend on the number of children served, and the number of hours you are willing to work. Typically a sitter for full-time job could earn between $ 22,000 and $ 33,000 a year.
